What's an AxeWar?
  • For's the only place in the world where there's no difference between a bass guitar, an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar!
  • We put them all in the battlefield head-to-head - the "AxeWar" - and have them duke it out for ratings.

  • There are over 1000+ guitars and basses (and tons uploaded daily) that musicians, guitarists, bassists rate.

    Do I need to submit my personal information or even email address to participate in any way?
  • Surprise! You don't need to provide us with either. This is an enthusiast web-site created for *you* and other guitar/bass enthusiasts like us!

    How do I Upload/Submit my guitar and/or bass pictures?
  • You can Upload them directly to the battle zone.
  • If you are like me, email your pictures to

    How does my guitar and/or bass get rated?
  • On the AxeWar home page, any 2 pictures from our picture database (chosen by an algorithm) are showcased.
  • Visitors pick their winner by clicking on either one.
  • This initiates battle two, then three and so on...
  • Initiate as many battles as you want and drool over the guitar and basses for as long as you want!
  • The rating mantra - is simple - highest percentage of battle wins will put you in the top spot!

    How do I track my guitar and/or bass rating?
  • Your upload confirmation will give you a reference link to your guitar or bass.
  • Bookmark this page.
  • Now, you can check you rating anytime or send out the reference link to your friends and family and earn you bragging rights!
  • Heck, show a potential buyer (you traitor!) your guitar rating to sell it for more!

    Do I need to own a guitar and/or a bass to rate pictures?
  • No, you can head straight to the AxeWar homepage and start rating your favorite guitars and basses.
  • However, just so you know, you'll get negative karma points, if you have a guitar and don't post pictures up--Do it for your Axe !

    What can I do to ensure my guitar and/or bass gets a good rating?
  • Take your guitar and/or bass picture with the highest resolution on your camera..
  • Capture the guitar and/or bass parts of your axe that most appeal to you.
  • Provide us with as much information about your guitar and/or bass as possible.
  • Most importantly.. don't forget to get creative!
